The "imma do me" mentality is a MAJOR contributor to the downfall of society and American culture. People have gone so far in caring ONLY themselves and their (immediate) wants and alleged needs (because most people do not really need the things they think they need) that now its like "anything goes" and everything is acceptable as long as it makes the person happy, pleased or feel good for the moment. So nowadays, you can walk over, screw over, cheat on, lie to, ignore, disrespect and degrade other people (in general) and now it just "is what it is" because "hey...I am just doing ME" Unfortunatley, that is the real truth behind this idealogy and a major factor in why our country is in economic ruin. Funny that you picked a peach to illustrate your points, as I'm from Atlanta, GA, and often tell people I'm much like that peach w/a soft, fuzzy exterior, but a pit-hard interior...a little piece of leather but I'm well put together, as my grandma would say.
