You Are Here Now

All things of this Universe come and go. Situations, circumstance, flowers, architecture, relationships, leaves… And, though many of you would rather avoid this reality – we, the fragile members of humanity, come and go too.

Have you forgotten?

The worry of today will soon be gone. The economy will turn back around at some point. That pain in your ass will eventually go. That lovin’ feeling that’s got you sprinkling melodious treats into the ears of all who cross your path will fade away. Everything is cyclical, it’ll all come back around, except for our life’s force.

Yes, you have come, are here now and will eventually go. Did you forget?

While you were worried about what they thought was best and you were hiding your heart under other people’s ideals, time kept passing. Living other people’s lives has caused you to slowly separate yourself from your Self. This is how we drift into weird ambiguity, such as the ‘I don’t know what I want to do with my life’, or the ‘I’m not sure what I like any more’ type of zones.

Did you forget?

As you allowed the boundaries of someone else’s beliefs to stifle your spirit and you starved your soul in order to conform to what you deem righteous or popular, you were sacrificing supreme opportunities to honor who you are. And the rest of us missed out on the gifts you have to share with the World. Oh, yes we did. There are thousands, if not millions or billions of people who stand to benefit from who you are (not what you do, but who you are). We’re all connected, you know.

Do you remember the power of your specific blend of talents, or have you forgotten?

You must have. Particularly during those spans of time where your efforts to be better, however you define better, have eclipsed what’s already right, wondrous and cool about You. You know, when you put all that time into achieving something you thought you wanted, then realized you didn’t end up with all the happy feelings you thought you would. Or a misstep or failure along the way to betterment led to nasty internal self-shaming dialogue (the exact opposite of your intended outcome).

Yeah, you forgot while you were putting your Self down for not being what you thought you should be.

You forgot each of those times you violated your truest of intentions and desires to fulfill other people’s wishes, then lived with the regret that followed your missed opportunity to honor who You are.  Then you wondered why no one seems to know the who of You – your preferences, desires, goals and dreams.

leaves_turningHave you forgotten? All things living, including you, have come, are here now and will eventually go.

Self-improvement has its place, as do compromise and sacrifice; but creating the boundaries to protect and preserve your identity (the who of You) is vital to your well being and necessary for a genuinely interesting and fulfilling life.  I mean the life you’re living right NOW.

With the fact that you have come are here now and will eventually go at the forefront of your mind, ponder this: What is the most distinctively self-expressive thing you can do in this moment to honor your Self?

Go initiate it, do it, finish it, present it… just go do it – NOW!

Simply do you.

Stop hitting my buttons. This is so true. I think we are so use to living the life given to us, (go to school, graduate, get a job or go to college, create a family) that when there is no one around we didn’t do anything we want to do in life. I am pleased to say that I am currently living my life and loving it.

Like Eckhart Tolle, all’s we have is this moment in time. It’s hard to stay present. This was a GREAT reminder!
