Some say, “I’m just being me…”, as they fall back on their childhood and other past experiences to justify lying, cheating and stealing. Some people blame others for violations they know to be dishonorable by saying, “hey, they made me do that, what else could I do?”
Is simply doing you a license to do whatever? Speaking solely for myself, no. So, my saying ’simply do you’ isn’t the same as my saying do whatever you wish. But it’s similar.
Most of us have personal aspirations. We’re striving to reach new pinnacles and to create a life that supports who we are in our core. You may value luxury, so you educate your Self and work your way to a level of success that supports luxury. You may value friendship, so you share your Self and your time to foster meaningful connections with others. Solitude may be your thing, so you set your life up in a way that guarantees a certain amount of alone time. Whatever you value reflects who you are, in your core.
As we shape our existences to support our values, we make mistakes, learn from them and evolve parts of ourselves in order to have the impact we truly desire. We don’t do whatever, we do the things that add value to our world. When we’re filled up, we’re naturally inclined to give more of ourselves to the people and causes that most need what we can uniquely give.
There is difference among those who accept personal responsibility and evolve from their mistakes and those who do whatever Read the rest »

What is the one thing you see yourself being, living and doing, but haven’t done yet? You’ve been dreaming this dream, tapping your foot to your own special melody, just beaming at the thought of being your vision of accomplishment.
Some of us want our names on the marquee, others envision acquiring a Ph.D. or winning an Olympic Medal. What’s your dream? Do you want to go to Greece and climb Mount Olympus, become the founder of an organization that feeds and clothes the less fortunate, fly a plane, design your own clothes, grow a vineyard, invent that thing that will make all our lives a bit easier….
What is it that you want to do?
“I want to get rich!”, isn’t the type of dream I’m talking about. I’m centering on those dreams that extend from your core because they are part of who you are. The visions that would lead to you sprinkling the world with your talents and would demonstrate your most heartfelt interests. Those dreams that are under your control, not left to chance and require sheer dedication, focus and a concentrated application of all that you are.
Sounds like a lot of work, huh? It is.
If that thing you want feels as if it would be too much work – you’re wanting the wrong thing. You know it’s right when you’re willing to put forth the effort to make it happen – step by step, bit by bit.
If your vision is defined, yet is parked within the confines of your mind, what are you waiting for? Don’t have the time? Yes you do! You make time for things that are far less important than achieving what’s most meaningful to you. Don’t have enough money? Yes you do! You invest money in things that are far less important than achieving your goals – besides, you can leverage the Internet to learn how to do almost anything you’d pay others to. Are you thinking you’re not good enough? Read the rest »

What is it that you don’t want, yet have been accepting from yourself? If you’re granting procrastination the space and time to become a part of your identity, you’ve accepted a reality that doesn’t reflect your potential. If you’ve decided you don’t have enough left over to save, you’ve given yourself permission to be broke. You’ve granted yourself permission to be unhealthy if you’ve accepted another deep fried filled day without exercise.
What you’ve accepted in yourself, has given your circumstances permission to be.
What is it that you don’t want, yet have been accepting from others? You criticize and may even shame in an attempt to make them change their ways; only to end up with more of what you don’t want. What makes you think you possess Read the rest »
